Enerfín reaches 300 MW of wind power in Brazil 01/09/2010

The Group has been awarded 46 MW in the second invitation to tender for promoting renewable energies in Brazil.

The Elecnor Group, through its subsidiary Enerfín, has already been granted 300 MW of wind power in Brazil since the tender award on 26 August, achieving its objective of doubling its operational wind power capacity within three years.

The Spanish multinational has been awarded 46 MW of wind power in the second invitation to tender issued in the Latin American country for promoting renewable energies. It had already won 96 MW in the first award in December, and this new tender award strengthens Enerfín’s position as one of the main wind power operators in the country.

These new awards have also been given in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, where it will operate with wind farms in Osório (250 MW of power) and Palmares do Sul (50 MW of power). The estimated investment for developing the awarded 46 MW amounts to 100 million euros.

The new contract reinforces the company’s commitment to international markets and consolidates its business activity in wind power. The Group, through its subsidiary Enerfín, participates in the construction and operation of over 1000 MW in Spain and America.
